Dr. Michael Balk is a board-certified physician in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology, and currently serves as the President Elect of the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association’s Metro Atlanta-Greater Southeast Affiliate, and as the Medical Director of the Northside Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Balk received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University, and received his medical education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he later completed his residency in internal medicine. Dr. Balk completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Emory University Hospital.
He has nearly two decades of practice experience in the Atlanta area, and specializes in nuclear medicine, echocardiography, pacemaker implantation, CT angiography and Transradial Cardiac Catheterization. His research has been published extensively, and he has served as an invited lecturer at some of the most esteemed symposiums. Dr. Balk is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, and is a founding member of the Society of Cardiac Computed Tomography.
